We are planning to get married in
Toronto
Las Vegas
Douglas, Isle of Man!
We're skipping the formal wedding razzle-dazzle and going straight to the pub!
Getting married on the Isle of Man will give us a great excuse to explore the only nation in the world to be recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
We would like to give you an excuse to do the same. And we would love to catch up and share this moment with you!
More info below, plus additional Travel Info (link).
Who?
Tess, Ryan, and you (hopefully).
When?
Friday, September 4, 2026 (confirmed!).
Where?
Douglas City Hall (confirmed!). Followed by tea? beer? and certainly food!
How?
By civil registrar. Since the IOM requires in-person notice at least 8 days in advance (old British custom), we will be enjoying life on the island all week.
Why?
Why not.
Whot?
That's the spirit!
No really, why the Isle of Man?
Our friends and family are scattered around the world, so we knew people would have to travel. We've talked about visiting the Isle of Man for years (some of Ryan's family are from there) so decided this gives everyone a great excuse to go on a European vacation.
When is the ceremony? The reception?
There kind of isn't one. This is more elopement-style. We're going to wing it. Since Tess has obviously lowered her standards, you can too!
Are kids allowed?
Everyone is welcome to join!
What should I bring? What should I wear?
If we can find a place that rents formal wear for a reasonable price, we'll do that.
For you? Pack and dress like you're on vacation. But whatever you do, please, for everyone's sake, wear pants.
Why should I come?
Yes.
Will be updated with our photos throughout our time on the island.
